TEXAS HOLD’EM POKER

Texas Hold’em Poker is played on a special table with a 52 card deck. Certain cards are shared by all players to create the best possible Poker hand. All cards count as its poker value. Aces may be high or low.

  • Button
    Is the person who is dealt last and is regarded as the sealer and is indicated by the placement of a Marker Button. Betting starts off by the first player to the left of the Button placing a Small Blind which is half the value of the Big Blind and the second person to the left of the Button placing a Big Blind. When the Blind bets are placed the dealer deals 2 Hole Cards. Consecutively, a round of betting will commence for the remaining players on the table. The following are the actions that a player may take other than “Check” on the first betting round only. to each player in a clockwise motion.
  • The Flop
    After all bets are completed, the 2nd round commences in which the dealer will deal 3 community cards called the “Flop” which can be used with the player’s 2 cards in hand to create the best possible 5 card hand. Thereafter, a 2nd round of betting commences with the option for each player to Check, Bet/Raise, Call or Fold.
  • The Turn
    After all bets are completed after the Flop, the 3rd round commences in which the dealer will deal the 4th community card called the “Turn” which can be used with the player’s 2 cards in hand to create the best possible 5 card hand. Thereafter a 3rd round of betting commences.
  • The River
    After all bets are completed after the Turn, the 4th and final round commences in which the dealer will deal the 5th community card called the “River” which can be used with the player’s 2 cards in hand to create the best possible 5 card hand. Thereafter a final round of betting commences.
  • Showdown
    The player with the 2 cards in hand and the 5 community cards will create the best possible 5 card hand according to the Ranking of Hands Table. The player with the best hand will win the pot. Suits are not used to break ties, nor are cards beyond the 5th; only the best 5 cards in each hand are used in comparison. In the event of a tie, the pot is split equally among the winning hands.

Three card poker (TCP) is a poker variant played in casinos. In common with other such games it can also be played in other formats.
